Peripeti, home

Check out the my latest sponsor, Peripeti, home on Etsy! She makes soy candles in beautiful vintage  glassware!

These would make great gifts and when the candle burns out you still have a beautiful vintage piece!  Great idea!

I felt compelled to put this warning out for others. I once bought some "home made" soy candles from a lady who obviously didn't mix the ingredients properly. The candle she made caught on fire. I had lit the candle and left the room to go to the kitchen and the next thing I knew the smoke detector went off. When I walked back in the room where the candle was, there was a 12" flame shooting out of the top of the candle. I immediately threw a wet towel over it to extinguish it.

Needless to say, since that incident I have never burned another candle again.

Anyway, just wanted to caution others about home made candles.

I make soy candles. Every scent, every new jar has to be tested. I have concerns how that can be done in one of a kind jars.
